Madelene was able to meet Academy Award winning actress Hilary Swank while in DC receiving her PRUDENTIAL Spirit of Community Award.

Heartfelt Hugs has been growing rapidly since it's birth in October 2014. Since that time, founder Madelene Kleinhans has received both local and national recognition for her creation of Heartfelt Hugs. These awards have been a blessing as they helping to bring in more sponsorships and awareness of the need for sibling support. Madelene's goal is that she will never have to turn a family away from an event because it is too full.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States' largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. Madelene and her mom were flown to Washington, DC for 4 days of celebration. She received her award from Academy Award winner, Hilary Swank.​
